As is known to us, rotary encoders consist of incremental encoders and absolute encoders. And absolute encoders are much more expensive than incremental encoders. In fact, both two types of encoders are used for position measurement. So what's the point of using an absolute encoder? For distance measurement applications, both incremental and absolute encoders can be chosen - from a technical point of view. The advantages of absolute encoders are reflected in accuracy and performance, while incremental encoders seem more economical and practical.

Carl, Fuji has a unit that is approx. 12k. But it does alot for the CP6/7/8 and XP1 series feeders. All-In-One feeder jig.

the company name is similar to my screen name. you will be smart enough to notice it, it is in forli, italy. machines that i service is Yamaha/Philips. He sells feeders too, but junk feeders that he take for free (thats what he said) from customers
