Hello, I am new to SMT and I was wondering if someone could give a breif overview of a generic SMT process. Basically what machines are needed and how chips are mounted. More specifically, how the solder is applied. Thank you

Generic fabs should not require baking. Some special cases like teflon and flex circuits take moisture very well, they often continue to require a trip to the oven. Best wishes, Boca

I would like to know if anyone has a generic Temp. chart for SMT components. I need to know the Max. temp. parts can withstand while going through the reflow or wave operations. Thanks Bob Leible Raven Industries

Also search "Tape and Reel" useing your favorite search engine. We sometimes have an outside vendor tape this stuff for us. They use generic mod tape that dose not fit properly the parts supplied to them that also causes pick problems.

The generic name for these is Hairpin Clip. Get the dimensions you need and buy them by the hundreds from a hardware supplier. Jerry
