Yins: So, what kind of gloves do yall (and your operators) use when handling solder paste and used (pasted) stencils? What was the thought behind that decision? Thanks

We use a single use, vinyl glove. It is supplied by Ansell Edmont Industrial, it's called 'Duratouch Stretch II' Hope this helps.

no-clean processes - are gloves necessary?

Does anyone have any info in regards to wearing gloves, finger cots in a no-clean process? Are there ionic contamination levels that validate the costs involved in setting up a system? Appreciate any feedback -Rich

thanks for all the replies. we clean our Dek Stencils after use with IPA. What gloves do you guys use when cleaning stencils? I have found some info. relating to Latex Gloves as been a possible cause..

Just to let you all know. We got some nitrile powder free gloves and everything is fine now. We tried Vinyl but they were powdered so it really looks like it could be the powder and not the latex but I am sticking with the Nitrile powder free gloves

Consider using 100% nitrile gloves or finger cots. They are ESD safe and will not break out the skin like latex will. Cotton can absorb flux, solder, etc and will leave a lint residue however it is considered ESD safe.

I still don't fully understand the ESD mambojambo... Why wouldn't antistatic gloves do? Your hands can't be static as your body should be grounded, no?
