AOI: Golden Board vs Algorithm Based

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 21 11:01:18 EDT 2011 | frcdave

Hi, I would be happy to discuss the capabilities of both technologies, and more over the companies you are thinking about partnering with, if you would like to PM me. I have sold both technologies, Pattern Match and Algorithm based, and can dive deep

AOI: Golden Board vs Algorithm Based

Hi, We are using CyberOptics Flex Ultra for 7 years, and believe me it requires a lot of time to create and tune up the programs. In my opinion, this machine is not suitable for high mix low volume production. Also we have Omron AOI, which is algor

Pre heat temperature in Solder wave

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 17 03:26:17 EST 2003 | Kev

Hi Lads, Thanks for all of the replies. To answer a few of your questions..... My wave is a Hollis PT500N. It has 3 zones of pre-heater rod elements. Each individual element (601195-01) is 500 watts. There are 16 elements per zone so 8 Kw per zone.

Switch to New Reflow Oven

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 08 19:24:30 EST 2011 | swag

We are going to buy a new reflow oven this spring. It will replace one that is currently on-line. I have a small handful of golden boards wired with thermocouples and a ton of data to support the transfer of those specific builds. The hurdle is th

Kev, I looked up records of various hollis machines with 3 preheat zones. and with progressive preheat temp. of 300 400 and 500 with a speed of 3.5ft/min the topside board temp was 120C before entering the wave. the preheat elements were infrared. W

Thermocouple calibration on reflow oven

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 15 20:41:22 EDT 2004 | Ken

There are ledgitimate reasons for checking furnace calibrations, but let me clarify what that is. 1. TC's are not necessarily calibrted. Not unless you need "absolute" accuracy. TC's operate against a (non-linear) standard +/- a tolerance. Most

Well Thanks for all the good advise. Lots of different opinions on this one. I took the advise to contact my current supplier of solder paste. They sent in one of their tech people along with a sales guy and we ran without much trouble. Other than a

I've dealt with YesTech, Mirtech, and most recently CyberOptics, and so far my favorite is without a doubt the CyberOptics. The Yestech (pattern match) is very easy to program and use but it took sooooo much up-keep to keep the false calls to a mana
