Hi Davef, Do you means it is natural for tin diffusion to copper trace during SMT process? but I could not detect tin in UHAST T=0 unit, and the tin diffusion was found only in copper trace of C4 cage. Two question: 1) Could you tell me which pr

Hello, you will probably need more temperature. Notebook - probably the board is designed to transfer more heat(insude layers all copper). Tell us more about the problem you have and something about the board. what exactly is your problem? You can't

Hi. In the past years I had made dozens of PCBs but now I am trying to get a professional finishing on them. The main problem is oxidation of the copper traces. Basically I use the silkscreen method to make the pattern in both layers and then etch. L

Q: Could any of you guys tell me what exactly is this greenish thing ? A: No, but is not copper oxide. Copper oxide is brown, the color of a penny [here in the US] or an untreated copper laminated trace on a board. Many copper salts are greenish in

HASL: (hot air solder leveling) is a process used to cover the Cu. Either Sn/Pb is used or Ni/Au or some other combo. In one case you create a land pad and in the other (with resin)you cover the Cu so that you only have a "trace." Is that correct so

Hello ! I got exp only with leadfree HASL, but maybe the same problems apply. Also, the leaded HASL has probably lower process temperature. This could be copper, which has settled to the tank bottom. With leadfree, the copper is removed from molten

Let's face it guys...in most cases (stress the MOST!) a typical FR4 board will do the job. Few layers, low copper, not too densly populated etc...no worries. Use a reflow profile which avoids the 245-250C range, use a shorter TAL, Viola you have a go

Hi O'Conner, I hope you also tell us what Universal-GeorgeW discusses with you. It is a little strange seeing his name on this list and his phone number. Gee I can give you his email address but won't.. Again distance engineering is tough. I woul
