Contract Manufacturing Symposium at SMTA International

The SMTA announced that the Contract Manufacturing Symposium will be held on October 18, 2011 as a focused symposium at SMTA International in Ft. Worth, TX. The symposium, aimed at OEMs, and EMS program managers and executives, looks at risk mitigation strategies from Asia to Eastern Europe, and selected SMT processing solutions that could benefit those companies grappling with RoHS and other environmental or leading-edge (high BGA pin count) technical issues.

IBL Technologies, LLC recently held its 30-year anniversary celebration. The two-day event took place June 20-21, 2017 at the company’s Burnsville facility. The celebration honored 30 years of development of IBL’s vapor phase soldering machines as well as 20 years for R&D VaporTech.

Today's Vapor Phase Soldering An Optimized Reflow Technology for Lead Free Soldering

In the beginning of SMT, Vapor Phase Soldering was the preferred reflow soldering technology because of its excellent heat transfer capabilities. There were also some disadvantages like fast temperature rise, nearly no influence on the temperature profiles and high costs. So the use of Vapor Phase Soldering was reduced to special applications with high mass or complex boards in low numbers (e.g. for military or aerospace use).
