Hi, What is the different between Electroless Nickel / Immersion Gold (ENIG) and Immersion Au. Are they refer to the same finishing? We has been using the Gold thickness (0.00005 - 0.00013mm) , nicket (0.0025mm) for all Gold finishing brd (Immersio

Solder on Gold Fingers?

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 13 17:09:49 EDT 2009 | kmorris

There is a tape test from IPC in their TM-650 spec that can be downloaded for free from the ipc website. It will test for gold adhesion to the underlying nickel. Section 2.4.1E, I believe. It is quite simple to perform.
