Hi all. A recent board has shown some issues with graping and non-wetting on some 0402 capacitors. I believe we have the issue sorted. A combination of a 4 mil stencil with 2 mil reduction not giving us enough paste, and too long of a soak profile.

If you are lucky, you might be able to chip the solder off the fingers with an Exacto knife and then polish it up with a pink eraser. This does work if the solder on the fingers isn't wetted very well. Russ

Umar - the boards are not assembled - so Solder splash is not applicable. Solder resist does not Melt it cures. As a board supplier I would not want my clients to adapt if they are receiving crap product, I would expect them to leave.

I did the same thing in ours (removed the chip wave). What kind of machine do you have? What I did on our TD machines, I added some extra channels to minize the solder "splash" on the void which is the reason more dross is formed. Hope this helps a

We had one guy get injured three times by solder splashes 5 years ago - so due to one klutz, our whole production floor is a safety glass zone...

You need to adjust the air kiss. The machine blows a slight amount of air after placement and it is probably adjusted too high.
