BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, - The world’s most widely used standards for printed boards and electronic assemblies were recently updated, providing new coverage for advanced technologies and processes as well as guidance on the new challenges that state-of-the-art can bring. To help industry members understand the ramifications of the changes to the standards that they and their customers depend on, IPC will host a number of full-day technology workshops, taught by the leaders of the task groups that worked on the standards’ revisions.

IPC's Validation Services Program has awarded and renewed an IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to ALPHA-electronik A/S, an ISO9001 and ISO13485 certified EMS-based company in Denmark. Following an IPC audit, Alpha-electronics became the first European company to successfully renew and complete an intensive audit, based on two of IPC's foremost standards: IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.

IPC's Validation Services Program has awarded an IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Fabrication Technologies Inc./IGM Solutions (FabTech-IGM) located in Libertyville, Ill. FabTech-IGM is a leader in contract manufacturing, engineering, fabrication and integration of electronic and metal products. Following the top down approach, a customer encouraged the company to seek the IPC certification to assist with their internal continuous improvement projects. IPC's Validation Services Program announces that John Deere Electronic Solutions, a manufacturer of custom, integrated electronics components based in Fargo, N.D., has become the first OEM company to be recertified a second time to the IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML).John Deere Electronic Solutions, achieved the QML certification six years ago and this year successfully demonstrated the Class 3 level work required for recertification on two of IPC's foremost standards: IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
