Slim KIC would be my choice out of these two vendors. I have worked with several different makes and models and I would say DataPaq was my favorite. But it all depends on your needs and budget. They can all get the job done. Good luck with your

Hi, I spoke to Kic about this at the Apex show in Feb. They told me it was OK to use the Orange Monkey Fur box for lead free. I even asked about my old side kic and they said it was OK also. I guess it depends on how high your temps are. I agree

Anyone ever noticed a difference in measuring the temperature on a soldered board vs. using an unsoldered mole in their wave? I've been looking at the temperature of a specific part, and it reads much higher on an unsoldered mole vs. a soldered mole

Have you looked at Datapaq? Try http://www.datapaq.com or sales@datapaq.com Hope this helps keith PS. you may find that the prediction function is better with Datapaq.

First of all, did you profile this board with a mole, such as a KIC? Is the solder flowing, or just not wetting to the part or pad? I work with RF boards as well, but the main problem is tombstoning due to the ground plane side being larger because o

Hi, actually, I'm searching for a device to create reflow profiles like DATAPAQ, KIC, MOLE.... because our only one unit is broken... Which one are you using and why? Do you know if someone have a second hand unit to sell?

Saunders Technology... or ECD (makers of M.O.L.E.) has what is called a TEMPROBE that will work how you want... even in "wet" solder paste. Maybe others here can tell you if it works well or not, I use KIC. www.ECD.com/saunders/tp.htm

Why reinvent the wheel, Bart? You can buy a thermal barrier from one of the logger manufacturers (M.O.L.E., KIC, DataPAQ, etc). They come in varying sizes and temperature ratings. Maybe you can find one that suits your unit. Good luck.

Most people do not intend to solder Type K thermocouples. They use solder to attach the thermocouple. Search the fine SMTnet Archives for a posting by Chrys Shea. 1 Common thermocouple types commonly used for thermal profiling are: * Type K

I have used both. The moles both do the same basic functions. Software options are a little different for each. If you're just looking for basic profiles/oven qualification, either will do a fine job. If you're wanting more in-depth details, I'd su
