In the past I've removed shields with a dedicated hot air machine. (Similiar to an SRT) This machine could remove and replace shields using a stereo microscope and a positioning system. Basically a special nozzle is designed for each type of shield.

I have seen a Spark 400 at Apex Show. It appears to be a good Machine to do rework on BGA and others. I have used a SRT Summit 1100 Machine to do most BGA Reworks and want to have a Machine which can do rework better. Does anyone has any knowledge

for a very repeatable rework srt 1100HR is a very nice machine... alot of $$$$ though.. i recently used a APE Sniper and i thought this machine was very simple but good to use easy to profile, and align BGAs.
