There is no IPC specification, nor should there be. * There are just too many peculiarities in the design and fabrication of PWB. * The issue is not defining how to store boards. The issue setting expectation for reliable products and allowing you th

Whatever I've said, my intent has never been to insult you. Smack you yes, insult you no. True, you never said the word strings but you did say * shouldn't I be able to expect enough green strength from my epoxy to hold 0603 caps in place wi

"Polymide Films absorb a great deal of moisture. Polymide laminates must be baked at more than 1 hour at 100'C or better for a double sided PWB prior to exposing the laminate to elevated temperatures such as that required for soldering. Moisture abso

The moisture sensetive bags that carry your BGAs will have the specs in regards to your baking cycles. But definetly you have to bake the BGAs if its been stored at 60% humidity.Normally the shop floor area should not be at such higher humidity. You ca

Iman When you talk about your profile, can we assume you're measuring it on the pads of LGA? Profile the solder paste reflow by placing a thermal couple under the component pad, similar to a BGA. On a slight tangent, as with soldering BGA, paste

tommyg_fla. Sorry about being late getting back you. Surface-active species, such as Fe2+, Mn2+, NH4+, and H+, can be adsorbed onto solid phases [and transported by things as weird as bioturbation or advection not that they have anything to do with

Your ppl are correct, the capacitor is not sealed. So, it is perfectly acceptable for the capacitor to have absorbed moisture. If your ppl don't either prevent moisture absorption or remove the moisture prior to soldering, their component could fail

I hate to answer a question with a question but what are the particular effects of moisture absorption in a flex circuit?

Recommend you consult device mfg.'s data sheet or their customer support line to confirm from engineering. I think you mean't 30 C, not 300 C, because the device will likely be toast at 300 C.

Hello All, I have been searching for the board assemblies bake out requirements acceptance criteria but unsuccessful. Does anyone knows if there are general guidelines for the percentage of the moisture absorption in the PWBs and PWAs? Thanks, Tran
