"In Reality there's no additional cost or extra cost for the cleaning time since there is no increase on operator's wage in doing the cleaning but instead just an additional load or job for the operators at the same wage cost." I'd have to agree...

Tracy, I would check the squeegee blade for wear at the edges. Also, check the squeegee pressure to ensure it is not to high, forcing the paste between the stencil and the land, causing a smear. Good luck.

Make sure the paper is advancing correctly on your stencil wiper. I have seen this cause major issues. If the paper hangs up, it will smear paste across the bottom of the stencil every time it wipes.

Solder Paste Mis-print

Is it ok to re-print the mis-print PCB? Personally I am oppose to re-print the mis-print board. For two reasons. 1. You will end up adding solder paste on the bottom side of the stencil. 2. You may smear solder paste in some area. But I would like to

stepped stencils

Step stencils are not widely used, due to: * Higher cost as compared to uniform thickness stencils * Danger of solder paste smearing at least close to the steps * Difficulty of cleaning the stepped stencil underside (the steps cannot be on the upper

John, Depends on what you're cleaning (paste, adhesive, ink, etc..) and your process (do operators just dump a dirty stencil in and expect a clean one out, drying time, effect on the polyester). I could suggest a couple of name brand cleaners, but I

Printing smear

Hi, I'm facing smear after printing on DEK288 using reverse squeegee at the edge of panels. I've checked the fixture, printing parameter, stencil, solder paste. What else can I do?

Screen Printing

We agree with Ken's points about off contact / screen versus stencil, but this DHolt is talking stencil [regardless of what is typed about screens]. Comments are: * On "smears under the stencil": smearing happens. It makes us wonder about the frequ
