Ev, This error could be caused by any number of problems. Is there an error message in the message window before hardware initiation error? If so, what is it? A failure in any axis (x,y,z,c,theta,y-wagon,tray-wagon) could cause your symptom. Paul

Start by checking cables. Odd that the C-motor would initialize, but, then, theta fails when you move the Z-motor. Sounds like something's got a loose connection somewhere. Possibly in the connector going into the C-motor. If that's a no-go, try

Swap the amps but first manually check by hand to make sure the z-axis is free to move up and down. Sometimes a part can get stuck in the gears. Good Luck
