Re: Resistor Paks on solder side of board

These parts are flat chip resistor arrays that have 4 end terminations on each side. It looks liek an IC but is typically in an 0805 and 1206 package type with convex terminations. .031" pitch from termination to termination and .011" spacing between

Wiring LED's

Hombre, presuming you are doing this as enhancement for looks, I have some comments. 1. LED's seldom run on more than 3 volts. 4.5 volts max for some special types. Because the car is 12 volts all over, you have to use a resistor to reduce the v

BGA Resistor Array Separating from Balls

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 18 10:49:22 EST 2010 | pcbrookie

Hello all, One of our resistor arrays is becoming detached from its balls after reflow. This is the second instance of this happening. The balls are clearly soldered to the board, but the actual package is coming off (package pads are quite bare).

Robert: Howya doin' bud? You say "BGA Shorting!!!" I say "Too Much Solder!!!" So, earlier comments about aperture design are appropriate, make good points, and I think we both agree that improvements could be made in your stencil design, but I'm

Stencil Printing for 0201 Applications

Challenges: The basic defects that impact assembly yield are bridging, satellite solder balls, and opens (i.e. tombstones / draw bridges). There are many variables with the stencil printing process that can impact these; several of them are listed

I am not answering for Techguy2000, but I am chiming in here, I have the same problem. Our resistor packs are ceramic body with no leads, they have a metalized area reminicent of the old castelation leads of year gone by. The lead pitch is 50 mil

Now I have to guess and make a few assumptions. Without looking at the back side of the board my guess is you have some 400-100V diode bridges before the resistor ,zener and the FET . The FET is a 500V 0.85 Rdson NFET. All of this suggests a chopper

0402 bridging

Les, Some of the answers to design or stencil aperture/placement machine depend upon what is the current spacing between your components which you didn't specify. Chip components such as 0402's and 0201's typically have very small reductions in pas

Yea you gotta love those airknives. It may not work in this application if the shorts are present at the trailing edge. I have several boards that are using conns with pins at .050" centers and they short. The protrusion is .030" to .040". The shorte

Re: Questions #2 Are you having solderability problems with that arrangement? Sounds like problems could be solved at the wave solder. If the customer has already spun pcb then sometimes for low volume it would be easier to correct the problem at wa
