depending on what is diameter of your balls ;) and smallest electrical distance on the boards (IC legs?? or other) solder balls trapped in ?? or not ?? base on that to see how dangerous your solderballs can be

Solder balls

hi initially, as per PCB design and gerber file of PCB we got 5 mil stencil, during process observed lot of solder balls (70-80%), then we decided to go for 4 mil stencil with c-cut. now the problem is reduced and still solderball exists which is a

Printing on soldermask

I almost always go with an overprint as long as it's feasible. I haven't had much problem with solder-balling when overprinting. I'd give it a try and see how it works for you.

Caumel, You should be able to find sufficient info in the archives. Solder Balls probably hold the majority of posts and should be easy to referance. You can find out what causes them in relation to board material, profile tempature, wave type, flu

Hello All, I am looking for any insight RE: reworking the Xilinx 4044XL 40x40 BGA chip. A customer of mine has no trouble removing it, however, when installing with their BGA rework station, the corner solderballs consistently collapse. Has anyone

Hi Chris, the same reduction as for fine pitch (10-15%)has decreased the amount of solderballs enormously. Sure, with adequate pad design and good printing equipment and processcontrol you can get the same results but it does no harm as long as you

Used an older model of the one you described. Have used Asymtech and Fuji's as well. The Camalot is accurate, reliable, and easy to program. The only things I disliked about it was that is was slower than the fuji's, and if the pressures weren't set

Possible to temporarily store mounted but not soldered PCB's?

As the others have stated, moisture is the killer. You have to be sure no moisture is allowed to get to the paste. If it does, you'll get solderballs. I would suggest not using a vacuum. The solvents and other volatile components of the flux will
