NEC Electronics was honored with EEMBC's (EDN Embedded Processor Benchmark Consortium) first annual "Most Published" Award. Nicknamed the "Gutsy Award," the honor is given to the EEMBC member. That certified and published the greatest number of EEMBC benchmarking scores during the year. EEMBC's first release of benchmark results on April 11, 2000,* contained scores for three of NEC's products, representing more published scores than for any other EEMBC member.

Universal Instruments’ Advanced Process Lab hosted the third 2009 Advanced Research in Electronics Assembly (AREA) Consortium meeting at the Treadway Inn in Owego, NY on October 28-29. More than 75 attendees from the 29 member companies participated in the two-day event and a much larger number has signed up for subsequent webcasts of the presentations.
