Stencil Tension

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 28 08:26:40 EDT 2004 | curious

What are the defects you see when the stencil is over 50 n/cm? I can't recall ever seeing a (stencil caused) defect that wasn't a dent, ding or some other physical damage, and I would have a very hard time sending back a stencil that is working fine,

Re: What exactly is an apect ratio?

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 11 16:24:35 EDT 2000 | John Thorup

Hello Antonio ASPECT RATIO = the ratio of one dimension to another as in the ratio of the thickness of a stencil to the width of the aperture. For instance, a 10 mil aperture in a 5 mil stencil will have an aspect ratio of 2. This is aperture width

Volume and average height of solder paste after printing machine

Hello Ok there is not much info here. What you have to mae sure of is several key factors. 1. Have you entered the correct stencil thickness. 2. Are you using the stencil gerber (not the paste layer) The paste layer is usually not adjusted for ap

Re: Frameless Stencils

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 14 08:09:20 EST 2000 | Wolfgang Busko

We are using frameless stencils with a frame system tensioning in X- and Y-direction. After first quarrels with our stencilhouse about the correct position of the tensioning holes ( they needed 4 tries to get it right) there are no problems any more.

Hello, the colleagues are all right. What I did in addition to show customers and quality that we either need or dont need a stencil: 1. Made a procedure - in there i defined 50 000 cycles and then the stencil has to be checked by me. In the checks

Solder Paste Volume

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 09 13:28:06 EDT 2001 | slthomas

I've been wondering if I was the only person thinking this. There are so many print parameters that are programmable now on new machines (squeegee pressure, height, speed, snap-off settings, cleaning intervals) that the process would (in my oh-so-hu

Stencil-PCB Alignment Mehods - Printing process

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 09 15:10:55 EST 2011 | davef

Can you use the equipment manual as the basis for learning how to use the machine? Each model of printer has different alignment techniques. We don't have a clue of your model type. So, we'll approach the question from its most basic point. Registe

How do I adjust table height EKRA X5 Screen Printer?

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 05 06:34:33 EDT 2020 | oxygensmd

Yes if you adjust the thickness to be thin than the machine raise the PCB more to the stencil - than the foil have better tension but it string out faster.

QFP solder paste volume

Electronics Forum | Fri May 21 15:50:41 EDT 1999 | John Thorup

We are running a number of boards with 8-10 25 mil PQFPs on board. Our process is mature with at least 3 years experiance and statistically few opens on the QFPs. Our beloved purchasing department has chased the almighty $ and changed FAB vendors

Stencil Tension

Q1: I thought we have a industry standard for this. A1: We're unaware of such a standard. IPC-7525 - Stencil Design Guidelines has a brief section on stencil inspection. We've talked about it previously on SMTnet. If you can't find it in the Archiv
