We agree. Colin Lea showed that HASL less than 2 microns [80 uin] thick has limited shelf life and that shelf life gets worse as the HASL gets thinner. Unless you do not need shelf life, consider sticking with 100 to 500 uin. There is nothing wrong

I have NOT done 0402's yet but also have no trouble with 0603's. Did you try any thinner stencils? I don�t know this for a fact just speculating, I would think the 0402's have a smaller brd to chip gap and that you might be able to get away with a 4

Hi Lads, Thanks for all of the replies. To answer a few of your questions..... My wave is a Hollis PT500N. It has 3 zones of pre-heater rod elements. Each individual element (601195-01) is 500 watts. There are 16 elements per zone so 8 Kw per zone.
