Steve, I have no influence over conn design. We paste print-reflow solder two types of connectors. One is a 50 pin IDC w/ 0.5mm lead dia @ 2.54mm lead pitch and a chamfered pointed lead tip. The other is 32 pin DIP w/ 0.36mm lead dia @ 2.54mm pitch

You're joking rite? I mean the pitch between these two connectors is night and day. Of course you will get shorts on the 96 pin connector because your leads are right on top of each other. Now, what to do about it: You took a picture of the top o

Hi guys, Have any of you encountered harwin connector M80-647 in the past? Have you noticed any problems with the reliability of the component, solderability and 'reworkability' (thats a new word for sure)? Heres a PDF of the component; http://www.

I was wondering IF anybody has has success wave soldering a 50 (2 rows of 25) pin 0.050" pitch thru-hole connector. I seem to be getting alot of bridging no matter what I do. Is there a design spec for the size and shape of pads? The pads on the pcb

Most of our product are mixed technology. I don't consider thru-hole components as "pesky." Perhaps from a manufacturing point of view they are due to the extra handling and machine requirements. But from a reliability stand-point, thru-hole is mu

| Hello everybody. | Remember I posted some questions on the smtnet regarding placing the thru hole connector using paste and reflow(pin in hole). I have able to accomplish the process succcesfully.....but I have a problem. The boards are failing at
