Ianchan: Watch yourself. Old style vapor phase oven are being replaced by ovens build to capitalize on new generation fluids [ie, Ausimont, F2, etc]. These machines could fill roles in soldering of no-leads.

If the sensor can survive the 200C in the molding machine, then could it not survive Pb-free soldering? Maybe not convection reflow, but it should be able to survive vapor-phase reflow. I would control solder height by controlling the amount of paste

We have been doing pilot runs with vacuum installed on vapor phase. Voids are down but bridges are up on the .5mil BGAs.
