conveyor speed x dwell time = contact length and =====> inches / seconds x seconds = inches. First run your pump at a constant speed.....THEN,.... try running your glass plate at a very fast speed, and then you'll notice that your lengt

Wave soldering profiling

I will try that next. I did speed up the wave pump motor with a larger pully(20% more speed) This was done at the time to try to increase the size of the wave because I had component leeds touching the wave pot as they passed by. Due to the wave high

Sounds like you are running your conveyor too fast. Check your profile and see if your board is getting hot enough "max 125c on topside prior to hitting the wave. If so then slow it down, if not then increase your preheats and slow it down.

Wolfgang is correct - Dwell Time is influenced by conveyor speed and of course, pump speed. Contact Length (the length of contact between board and wave) is something that you might want to track. Contact Length greatly influences process defects l

Hi I know that pump stencil technology can be used to print adhesive on boards with TH components already placed and clinched, but what about solder paste? The production sequence goes like this: First the jumper wires are placed and clinched with

Glen: Thanks for the clarification. I agree with Wolfgang that fluxer setup could be the source of the problem. Bottom-side wave solder shorting has a fairly wide range of potental causes. For instance slow conveyor speed can produce the same con
