White spots on PCBA after Selective Solder

Electronics Forum | Sat Sep 12 09:49:38 EDT 2015 | davef

If the boards were still "wet" after DI wash, your [I assume] low res flux could be reacting with the moisture on the board and causing the white spots. The preheater in the wave could have more dryification than the preheater on the selective solde

| I am looking for a barcode machine/printer which will print barcode directly on printed circuit boards with non transferable white ink. This has to be done before PCB assembly. | | Any help will be appreciated. | Please reply directly to my E-mai

Chris: Thanks. SMTnet has a "Library." Buried deep within it is a listing of terms. The following is from that listing: Shadowing. When a component blocks the heat or solder wave flow from certain areas of the printed circuit board, resulting in

| We had a similar problem. But whenever the solder came from the screen printer the solder would wet to the gold fingers, with the help of residual flux. But the problem is balls, that I assume are not wetted to the gold fingers but instead are jus

| Hello Netters, | | I need some info, Earl or Dave, I have a PCB that exhibits a white layer on solder side. It does not appear to be surface residues (IPA has no effect), but looks like its under solder mask. My first guess is that the LPI solde

| Okay, | | Another question, if the soldermask in not cured, then it is washed will water ingress (from wash or ambient ) play havoc with capacitance or dielectric of PCB. I mean will my crystal and clock circuits start "Y2K'n" on me. OR will my P
