Billboarding 0603 resistors

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 22 11:49:42 EST 2002 | stimpman

Hi, Have you checked your placements pre-reflow? The most typical cause of a billboard unlike tombstoning is a pick and place issue. Billboarding will usually happen with ( profile/bad pad layout and the most common just poor center placement. I'v

hi everyone, new user and noob here. I've spent the last week getting acquainted with my juki 740, being totally new to placement etc it's been fun to learn! I've now gotten to a stage where everything is setup in the machine for my board and is p

Re: resistor networks- leadless vs. gull wing

| | | I am in the process of picking a new resistor network for one of our new board. Since we are new to SMT i would like to get some opinions on networks. Currently we use one molded gullwing type network on our boards with no problems. Other than

would any body be able to supply me with infomation on how to adjust a quadalign unit,as a unit on my line will not pick up 0603 resistors, but will pick up thicker 0603 caps. My manuals offer no help.I have run the aligner calibration with the cone t

problems picking up PANASONIC ERJ-12ZYJ203U resister.

Are you having any issues with other ERJ series resistors from Panasonic? Any other 2010 resistors? There is, very likely, something specific to this part/package/packaging that is causing your problems. Things to check: -Identify where the issue

problems picking up PANASONIC ERJ-12ZYJ203U resister.

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 08 12:18:18 EST 2017 | dyoungquist

It could be a part height issue. I have seen a case where an 0402 resistor from 2 different manufactures had different heights. If the height of your 2010 part is taller than you have programmed in the package data, the pick up head may be pushing

Are there pick and place machines for loose components?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 31 09:36:17 EDT 2009 | spitkis2

Does anyone know of fully automatic pick and place machines that can pick up parts either from small pieces of cut tape (i.e. 0402's, 0603's, SOT's) or components loosely arranged on a tray (not ic's that are in matrix trays)? Application is proto

Zevatech 740 RH Head - issues with rotation of component during laser recognition

I have an old Zevatech 740 machine that, until recently, was running well. In the last few weeks, the RH head has started giving me issues. When it picks up a component (and early on in most of my programs it will be picking up chip resistors or ca

Zevatech 740 RH Head - issues with rotation of component during laser recognition

OK, with my masterful powers of deduction, I have been able to resolve the problem. Upon further investigation, it became apparent that the issue was restricted to those components that had the laser alignment level in the component data set to -0.2

bulk feeding chips

The Universal chipshooter (Sanyo) has automatic X-Y pick-up correction as standard. Are the upside-down resistors an issue for inspection purposes? Do you use AOI? Can you really read markings on 0402 resistors?
