A couple of things you can look into 1. The proper bottom pre-heat of board. If you are applying only direct hot air to BGA without preheating can cause BGA's to warp and collapse un-even. 2. Moisture on you BGA's. If BGA's were not properly packa

If you lay a flat edge on the PBGA, it is visibly warped? How much of a warp? 0.001, 0.010, 0.050 what? What is your pcb temperature just prior to entering the spike process (zone or step or what ever you call it)? Is it between 165 and 175 C?

We agree. Colin Lea showed that HASL less than 2 microns [80 uin] thick has limited shelf life and that shelf life gets worse as the HASL gets thinner. Unless you do not need shelf life, consider sticking with 100 to 500 uin. There is nothing wrong

To be precise, the component is a Xilinx Virtex platform FPGA with 1152 balls. We also assemble some DSPs up to 1000 balls with metal cover. At best, we can remove the components but it is almost impossible to find a working solder profile using IR.

Has anybody had to replace the rear LCD monitor on a 4796 HSP chipshooter? Universal is quoting 10k (!) for a new one as they are hard to locate. Patlite (the LCD manufacturer) has discontinued the unit GSC-1000ARS-W and is unable to help. If an

Has anyone in the US used this system? I am told that over 1000 systems are operating world wide...but find it hard to believe no one domestically is using this (if it in fact is worth its salt would more not use it?) Anyone? Anyone demo'd this? A

Hi all, We have a PCB without any BGAs on it which goes into harsh environment. We therefore conformal coat it. After assembly the PCBs are expected to withstand "85degc/85%RH for 1000 hours" We now want to add a BGA to the PCB. Does any one have

we are worried about the coating not being able to cover underneath the BGA. If the coat is excessive then it would cause CTE issues. Also if anybody has data on 85/85, 1000 hrs after conformal coating of BGA, would appreciate if you guys can share

This is a real old machine. You won't have much luck with Weller. They sell a unit that they think is much more current. Nozzles are to come by, but are necessary for different size parts. Look on E-bay if you haven't. You also might find a deal on a
