Looking to repurpose some older 32mm GSM Blue Label feeders for a custom application. These feeders are the 24V type and not 42V. Does anyone have any information on connecting to and communicating with the feeder outside of a GSM machine or setu

Status output is pin 2. On pneumatic feeders it only shows if the feeder is inserted, on electric feeders it doubles as feeder insertion and goes off if the tape is exhausted or feeder is jammed

24V feeders are very simple to interface. You have supply voltages (24VAC, 12VDC), status output and control input (advance). All signals are using 12V levels. To advance feeder pull control input to GND. Connect status output to +12V with a pull-up

Make sure your machine configuration is correct. You may have something assigned to the machine that is no longer there. For 24V check to make sure all of the E-stop jumpers are plugged in.

Genesis should work with pneumatic feeders, but not if Lightning heads are used. It's basically 24V transformer and some wires and fuses - you can do this "upgrade" by yourself, actually. Regarding cal. kit - it's the same as for GSM's but, again, no

Thanks, Deni! We're replacing two 4-spindle GSM's with two GX-11S with Flex3 front and IL4 in the rear. These we plan to use a mix of our pneumatic & 24V feeders as well as high speed feeders as we acquire them. The sellers advised that the 24V kits

I might answer some of your questions: 1 - in order to use old 24V feeders, Advantis needs 24V feeder kit installed. As far as I figured out, it's only 24V transformer and wiring, so I guess you can do it yourselves if the machine is not upgraded
