Can anybody give me feed back on the pro and cons of using Pace, OK, Hakko, Metcal, etc... equipment in their rework processes? I need to set up a low volume rework station for mixed technology boards. Would appreciate any suggestions.

When Air-Vac introduced an IR system at a show in San Jose, people though it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. For obvious reasons they discontinued the short life of the IR systems and implemented hot air into their rework stations. Sales

We are looking for a new BGA rework station. We got an ERSA IR550A and we are not very satisfied. I'm not sure that IR reflow is the better solution because the top-side heating is too large. I think is better with a convection "forced-air" heat.
