Our company strictly does selective conformal coating applications for the customer. We will quite often see one side looks great, and the other side doesn't. We often see dewetting around holes, and have found this can be a possible flux build up. A

Thanks Dave, The problem is on all 0805. Do you think it could be a reaction with the flux from the wave or the one in the paste. Do you think the problem is the viscosity of the coating. SPEC = Viscosity 150cP nominal ASTM D-1384. I ask you all

I'll third the motion for hand dipping the boards. One other idea is to get coating in a can. Many companies will supply coatings in aerosol cans for touch up and small usage.

We are looking at switching to UV cure for faster throughput. Does anyone know of any cost effective coating manufacturers? The pricing we are getting back are around $250.00 a gallon in 5 gal pails. This is more than twice what we pay for our curren

Terry, I've never had to deal with conformal coating but I do know that automotive parts manufacturers do a great deal of CC. These are the people that I would be looking to for your answers. Particularly in regard to long term reliability, extreme c

Does anyone conformally coat PCBs that have been processed with a no-clean solder paste? Any comments on this subject would be appreciated. Cheers

I have tried this white s/m coating. I want some thing better. I am looking at a metal frame cover over the PCB or leave the PCB surface with HAL avoiding soldermask. Will this HAL withstand -40 to +85 deg?

Hi We have a board at the moment thats passing ICT and passing functional test but its failing test after conformal coating has anyone had any experinces of this? or any idea what may be causing this?

I have considered this solution, but syringe application is very slow and it's hard to control thickness. It's good for partial covering or applying peelable solder mask. We need to coat circular board ca. 10cm in diameter. Takes a while even with sp

JD, Have you considered manual dipping? For that low of a volume, the purchase cost and maintenance wouldn't seem economical but I'm not in your shoes. With hand dipping, you don't have the thickness control you may need but it can be done. If yo
