While you're waiting, consider giving your paste manufacturer a call. They should have a database of recommended, or starting point profiles based on what oven you have. cheers, ..rob

This VIP70 has thermocouple inputs, so I'm hoping that's a good enough profiler. I tried a fairly different profile than you mentioned, so will test your settings today as well. If anyone has opinions, please jump in. Thanks!

starting point with zone settings would be, 100 / 160 / 200 / 225 / 260 deg C...but you'll have to check the exact profile on the pcb with a reflow profiler....making sure you meet the paste spec and making sure you don't heat any devices up to quic

one of my customers with a BTU VIP 70 has the following settings, 100 / 175 / 210 / 250 / 265 with conveyor speed of 18 ins per minute. They get a peak temp of 240~245C and time above liquidus of 220 C is @ 55 secs. Built in thermocouples should give

We are not having any real issues. I am just first setting up a lead free profile, and was looking for a starting place. So far it's going well. Can you tell me more about why your paste would be better and I'll pass that on to the decision makers?
