Re: Delmat mechanical properties

James: I believe Delmat is a proprietary product. Check with some of the solder fixture fabricators in the archives. Continuing, I would not select knowingly Delmat as a board stiffener. It's a composite material similar to oriented strand board

PCB material

Hello, our products are made on single-sided boards and we often have problems with receiving too warped PCBs from our suppliers. Can anybody suggest a good laminate or the most important properties of the material so we could specify it when we orde

Selective Soldering - nozlle material

I am looking for a good material for selective nozzle. We are currently using Kovar but it is expensive and wears out it has very good wetting properties.I looking for a material or coating that would allow me to keep the binder flow and with less co

minimum solder ball (bead) size

Yep. What I'm really looking for is the minimum radius of curvature for 63/37, which is a function of it's surface tension. It's physical properties issue, not an agency issue. I've seen some references that I have interpreted to mean that it's some

Russells: You can mix the two solders you mentioned, assuming by "96s" you meant "96Sn / 4Pb". If you heat the two tin / lead alloys to a liquid state, youll form a tin / lead solution with properties different from either of the two solders. The

Silicon contamination in solder joint

Hi Bill You said, "silicon". We assume by your discussion that you ment to say, "silicone". For background on silicone and soldering, check with Dow Corning [517-496-6000]. They make a OS2 [VOC-free] silicone stripper and should be able to give y

I need to reduce costs on solder paste wasted

Could this be an opportunity to explore the use of cartridge-type paste dispensers? Or maybe a reason to keep working over the weekend. * Re-Storing & Re-Using “Used” Solder Paste. Though not a recommended practice, used solder paste from the stenci

lead substrate materials

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 29 09:19:56 EST 2002 | bob_smith

Can someone tell me what metal substrates are comonly used for component leads with gold plating? If the gold plating is missing, are any of the substates incompatible with 63/37 solder? Thanks.

Hi You already received good answers. A thing to remember is the components and the PCB. How high you go above 63/37's 183C should be limited to create a good solder joint. Too long creates problems since the components and the PCB start to be he
