Greetings, I am looking into buying a wave solder machine for medium production of 100% through hole boards (~8.5"X12" dimension, not many layers, no high density part areas,

Are the apertures on the stencil reduced in width or 1:1 with the pads? It depends on the pad width and foil thickness but we usually reduce aperture width for any part that results in an aperture wall spacing of less than 8.5 mils.

We have a product which is supplied on 8mm tape. One customer recently commented that their SMT equipment couldn't handle the part as the tape was measuring 8.5 mm. Our actual measurements of this tape were 8.33 and 8.36 mm. I believe the max dime

If there's no shear strength standard for solder joint, how will I define my pad width and length then. I have a 8.5 mils width and my component lead width is 8.66 mils based on manufacturer's minimum width specification. How will I identify that it

LOL! Well I do make the BIG bucks - 8.5 by 11 in size, but our Hi-Scope is the same one Abe Lincoln used in the Civil War. It's old, but does the job. I've had my share of Q.E.s using every thing imaginable to mechanically test the solder. Althou

When looking at the feeder base the right side wires should be white, black, black, red from top to bottom. The left side should be red, black, black, white from top to bottom. You have IQ feeders hence the extra pins. The IQ feeders are only require

Wolfgang: Sounds like gluteus maximus protection time. 1 "Maximum suitable temperature for the solder joint should be half the liquidous temperature" is a good rule of thumb. Where it came from, I dont know. One place Ive seen it repeated is: H

Yes this is absolutely true. No-clean flux residue has various affects on the functionality of circuitry especially high impedance circuits. It also affects solderability, and reliability. No-clean flux will always leave a detectable residue. Mos
