Anyone using Acrylic conformal coatings? We're looking into using one, but one of the drawbacks is the odor. We have problems with any material that has a distinctive odor and our operators. Also the lines we would use it require repair after coat

I would suggest trying an acrylic peelable mask. In most cases peelable temporary masks are latex materials. Since you use an acrylic conformal coating it makes sense to use a mask with the same make up to avoid incompatabilities. Link to acrylic mas

Checked the archives with no luck. Anyone have a reliable test method of verifying acrylic conformal coat cure. Using Humiseal 1B31 mixed with approximately 30% solvent, spraying with a Nordson. Thanks in advance.

We've been conformally coating for years (primarily silicones) and yes we have issues with both equipment and materials. We just don't have experience with acrylics.

Is it acceptable to apply an acrylic conformal coat, cure and then apply a silicone RTV on top (for staking tall components)? Should there be a concern with the bond between the acrylic and the RTV?

Sorry to interfere with Dave F, but perhaps your IAg finishes have issues with process residues from the boardhouse. What is the base material of your ConAP conformal coating - acrylic, silicone, polyurethane? We do CC (acrylic) and IAg and never h

Ken contacted Asymtek. They stated that urethane and acrylic can be used in the same machine provided that he thoroughly flush the system with solvent.

Dear Sir, Please clarify my doubt... What will happened if acrylic conformal coating is mixed with poly urathane conformal coating and mixing of this composition is used to apply for electronic PCBs Thanks & Regards, Raghuveer S.

Have you looking into acrylic? We've had huge success with boards with stringent keep out areas while achieving proper thickness. Acrylic requires a thinner or cutting agent to perform repair/rework. -TSS
