Question about air particles in SMT area

Electronics Forum | Fri May 05 08:42:08 EDT 2006 | Chunks

This used to ba a hot topic years ago. But surface mount equipment does not need to be in a clean room. Your product may need to be , which would drive toward a "standard". Some people assume that "clean room" mean "high quality". Next time hav

3,5 ugr/cm2 NaCl) or power components, or Raw PCB. Nothing with the solder process or fluxes. Ion Chromatography analysis was necessary to help understanding of contamination origin. When occasionally we run TIC on a NC assembled PBA (Paste ROL0 or

I here china has bad air quality, so if in china this may be your problem.

"Ionization of the air causes an increase in conductivity..." I have an Ionograph and everytime I open the test lid cover the Baseline Stabilization Resistivity Value s by 60M Ohm-cm. My question is: Is there something to worry about our facilities

Is your air dirty or what? I'm not sure what you're asking, actually, but for my money I'd be more concerned with maintaining RH levels at from 40-60% and just keeping dirt levels "reasonable".

Its not likely your air quality that lowers the test solution's resistivity. Maintaining 60 M-Ohm requires almost constant circulation through DI resin beds. Just natural CO2 (Carbon dioxide) absorbed by the test solution will lower the resistivity

We use a Charge Plate Monitor (CPM) tp monitor the balance of our ionizers, according to ANSI ESD STM3.1. Maybe you could use a CPM to assess the ionizing radiation in your plant. The more we think about it, we feel you could use a Geiger-Mueller (G

How do you get your X-ray machine checked out? We had the tube replaced and they checked it then otherwise we would have the same guy we had in last year to check it out. But in any case we have a radiaton survey done at least once a year. I assume

Air Moisture in Production

MSL 3 means you can have the devices open for a maximum of 168 hours in an atmosphere of less then or equal to 30 C and 60% RH. If the humidity is less then 60% then it means the devices will absorb less moisture in a given time, but even at 40% RH y

Uncoalesced solder problem in fine pitch IC pads

No arguments there. I 100% agree that quality engineers can and do solve a lot of problems on the spot. I've nevern said "run an analysis as soon as you get a problem". The whole nine yard started with a solderability problem. In my previous product
