Solder paste tube storage

Kester recommends that we store our 1400 gm tubes on the tip. Our documentation is based on their recommendation. The Alpha past we used was stored horizontally, but that was because the flux readily separated from the metal.

I'd heard that Alpha did paste reclamation but just assumed they only offered the service for customers using their paste. Hmmmm, it's worth a call, anyway. Thanks for the contact.

Attention Alpha users: I just read Alpha is going to close the US paste factories and move them to Mexico. Be on the lookout for quality issues when they do. I am sorry to see them go in this direction.

in a thread titled ".5mm bga" there is a reference to a paste by alpha that is no-clean and is supposed to be made specifically for this situation. I suppose that increasing the pad dimension to .012" is out of the question? Russ

Try another solder paste manufacturer. Aim out of Rhode Island, Alpha and or Kester. I'm sure that they will be of better assistance than the current supplier. Good Luck
