Is there any benchmarking / report available on the industry regarding to the application of leadfree solder Sn(99%)/Ag(0.3%)/Cu(0.7%) e.g. Alpha Metals SACX0307 compared to SAC305? Thanks! Daniel

I agree! I am using a SAC305 no clean from Alpha. I have noticed that even hand probing with volt meter leads requires me to press very hard on the pads to bust through the flux residue.

I think the BLT solder joints look very shiny for no-lead. We are getting very good top side solder with ours though. They look like this. - Gold Enig plating - Alpha EF-6100 Flux - SAC305 - Preheat topside temperatures at 110 to 120C

We evaluated four SAC305 pastes. Of the four, we found Alpha OM-338 to appear to have the least flux residue. We also found it to be the most dull, least shiny, most non-SnPb looking of the four.

has anyone used or trialed the SACX from Alpha, from reportes and studies carried out it seems that its a go between SAC305 and SN100.
