ESD Smocks and chairs

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 19 21:44:20 EDT 2007 | rfrog

The first thing that I would do is contact the smock manufacturer and ask them for advice on testing the smocks. ESD FROM A TO Z 2nd ed. (Kolyer) states that: smocks should have a resistivity of less than 10^12/sq and must not shed steel fibers.

J-STD-001 doesn't necessarily require additional controls under conditions of low humidity, only that you verify the effectiveness of what you have in place. ESD S20.20 [1999] only says that relative humidity above 30% is "desirable". ESD S20.20 [200

I'm in the middle of developing an ESD program at my company, trying to adhere to S20.20 as much as possible (and the suggestions of the ESD audit conducted before I got here). I've been discussing the pros/cons of pink-poly foams and black foams.

What's The Dealy-O With Smocks?

I manufacture ESD supplies such as smocks and conduct ESD audits from time to time. With that said, here is my deal on smocks...ESD smocks work well to shield harmful static charges on clothing such as wool, silk, and synthetic fabrics. It is like we

If it's not adhesive, try an ESD-type ionizer. The objective of an ionizer is to eliminate surface charge on insulators and on isolated/ungrounded conductors. Practically speaking, the action of an ionizer is to drive the voltage on the surface of a
