Assembleon AX-5 & ACM

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 02 09:50:46 EST 2004 | Axl

For anyone who is currently running these machines I would like to get some feedback (positive and negative) on them. How do they run in a production enviorment? Is the modular machine (AX-5) a pain in the ass to get a board out of when its stuck in

I wouldn't go with the AX-5 - it's overkill. To make a board in high volume that sounds that simple is a job for a second user chipshooter (Fuji or Pana)as the first reply mentioned. Stay away from FCM1's. I'm sure the AX-5 is a great machine, but

Take a look at Assembleon. The AX-5, similar to the older FCM, is ideal for running smaller PCB's and has one, if not the fastest IPC board speeds in the market. Something else to think about is to purchase a line. If this is an option, many equipme

High output line advice

According to my assumptions you're looking for a 40kCph line. (300 days of 8hrs at 75% efficiency) What's the parts mix? I would say (and these are my favourites) Assemblon AX-5 with 10 wide robots. This will give you 50k output with the ability to

Hey Peter, Did some simple math... 800.000PCB's x 20cmp = 1.6million placements 8hrs/day * 22 days/month = 176 hrs You're looking at over 90kCph fulltime! I'd say go with an AX-5 as JAX suggested. Given the product you described you could reach s

Hi Efren, Did some simple math... - 100k units/month - 24 days/month - 16 hrs/day - 75% efficiency (ballpark questimate) You'll be looking at a line that does a bit more 50kCmp/hr with an IC/TH placer that does 3.5kCmp/hr (assuming 10 IC's /TH conn

Hi Serge, First of all: "i HAVE to buy"...? Sounds like someone is twisting your arm to buy a piece of iron you're not really enthousiastic about... But on a serious note: I've been comparing some machinery myself (also with Pana and Siemens) and I
