Could you not just switch to alcohol based flux? If your prob is getting the water off the board prior to hitting the wave, maybe you could install some type of convection to aid in this? Russ

Thanks Dave. We are UK based which is why we are still allowed to use Trike and our product is for an aerospace application so changing a cleaning chemical is much easier than requalifying a new flux. This was pretty much what I thought my options

Gotta be China... We are selling our manufacturing base to slave labor, reverse engineering, uneven playing field and "Western" hating countries.

So why are you telling us about the solder bar? What is the flux? that is what you need to change, you have a rosin based flux it sounds like. you can change probes in test fixtures or change flux chemistries. Russ

Grant, Why don't you try a water-base flux which is No-clean, VOC-free also? I have tried the 270WR flux from AIM with good results even on lead-free process. My $0.02, George

Yes, but you can expect a 20%+ pickup failure rate. Chuck-based alignment was so 1990's.... :)

Definitely recommend the Siemens F4/5 machine for your application. Based on experience I can say placement accuracy/repeatability is DNO (thats Dead Nuts On). Good luck.

Depending on your PNP equipment it looks as though it will work fine. Hard to tell pick surface of component based off their drawing, but as the old saying goes "technically anything is possible" good luck K
