Not these days. Most parts have several molding marks. Or the entire edge has a bevel. Using the ink as polarity is becoming mainstream.

Yes, that is all I am wanting is a guide to show new employees what to look for when a part has polarity, something that shows the dots, lines or beveled edges on ICs, or lines on caps and so on.

I'm honestly not sure IPC addresses this? the one thing i would ask myself if it were my issue: is the effected area in the critical contact area of the finger/contact? in other words if its low on the finger where the bevel was applied i bet its not
