We dodged it for a while but it was inevitable. Here's the question. What do I REALLY need, and does anyone even agree on it? OK, that's *two* questions. The first board we're likely to do has three parts that will need special consideration. One

Recently on one of my assemblies(sn/pb) I started seeing leaded BGA failure at functinal test for opens, but when I inspected them through 5DX and ERSA Scope it doesnt seem like there is any opens or insufficient and half no. of boards passed functio

Hello all, One of our resistor arrays is becoming detached from its balls after reflow. This is the second instance of this happening. The balls are clearly soldered to the board, but the actual package is coming off (package pads are quite bare).

Hello Graham, We are currently using Tacky Gel Flux during our replacement process. We dip the BGA component on the flux prior to placement. Once it is dipped, the alignment and placement is done. As for the profile, I believe I am hitting the corr

There are no BGA rework stations in that price range that I would consider for purchase. (or did you miss a zero in your cost estimate?) In order to have placement, and sufficient heating for proper BGA rework (top and bottomside)you're going to hav

Experiencing a problem with a 208 PBGA device. I am achieving good wetting with the exception of one ( damn) pin on the outer corner.I have a really good profile but the worrying thing is that it is so inconsistant. Once this open pin failure is dete

We are having problems soldering this motorola part(XPC860TZP50B5). After reflow, some of the balls appear to be sitting on the reflowed paste rather than wetted to it. We reviewed parts and found oxidation on many. We have four other BGA's, from oth

Hi Jaqueline, my first thought goes into the same direction, twist or warp (either the board or the BGA itself). I dont know the SRT equipment. Ive noticed with our equipment using a spot underheat element caused some warpage of the PCB making it
