Is there a steadfast rule of thumb for a good solder joint on an Enig Gold board. I come across this number 217C when discussing BGA profiles. Is this a published number? I sure could use a reference. Anybody feedback is appreciated.

Chevron marks are sets of lines (at right angles, on either side of component) placed on the board to help verify placement (we used it on BGA's) since you can't look at lead to pad to check placement accuracy. That's the only time I've seen it used.

Russ, I use the R562, it has a longer tack time then the Hm531 and have found no problems with voiding on my BGAs. You may want to evaluate this formula also Larry
