This is what I have come across with some of the gerber datas. Most CAD/Gerbers don't carry the fiducials because some of my customers don't have them as a standard but when the board house gets it they are the ones adding the fiducials. So send in a

I don't use the machines you have; I'm running a Siemens line. Regarding fiducials, this data should be provided by the design engineers through some kind of mechanical drawings. I usually get this with the CAD data. I don't know if there is a standa

hi, i have a question relating to fiducial, is > the fiducial normally comes with the pick and > place data from the custommer or we have to > define it by ourself? how to set its coordinate > so that the cp6 and ip3 (using Fujicam software) > w

How well should the fiducial be centered in the teach mode? Consider that you see the fiducial with probably 40 times magnification on the monitor. If you see the cross-hair a bit off center, then this is most likely just by a few hundreds of a milli

Ken, Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I am in Mexico and we make our own PCBs. That is another conversation entirely and another of my fix-it projects but currently we drill the PCBs and align the artwork to the holes visually

We've been using fids as badmarks on panelized boards, with reverse recognition so that an uncovered fiducial is a good mark. It's worked fine with 1.5mm fiducials but now we've run into problems with a board with 1mm fids and we can NOT get it to wo

I am not completely sure why it would tell you "board will not be populated" and then build it anyway, but if the only difference between the two programs (working one, not working one) is the fiducials are smaller, did you try reducing the search ar

I am using a search area of 2.5mm and I use a Red dot sticker to cover up board fids to not be built. I have it set to reflect. threshold is around 100 but that could be different depending on what you are using to cover up your fiducials with. I w

Are the local fids. necessary? Anyway, I can't think of any reason the local fids. would have to be spaced exactly the same distance from the part. We place BGA's and QFP's using board fids, and have yet to find a problem that local fids helped fix.

I've never heard of such thing!!! We do occasionally have problems with fiducial recognition and have a difficult time convincing our operators not to use pencil erasers on them. The erasers take care of the recognition problems, but leave shavings
