Flat flexible cable to PCB (RoHS assembly)

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 28 16:17:23 EST 2006 | joey_dragon

Good tidings, all. I am looking for a machine that will allow us to mount a flat flexible strip (such as TennRich's B.Type) to a row of pads on a PCB. I have not much knowledge about the process, I guess I expect to see a machine with some hot bar.

If this is same TennRich Type B [ http://www.tennrich.com/trtw/TR_PI_Prod_Info.php?pid=2 ] that is an EMI gasket, it needs to be glued with a conductive adhesive. It has the same thermal capability as a Snickers Bar, about 90*C top end.

Thank you for the quick reply! Actually, the "type B" I referred to applies to a flex cable that can be found in this page: http://www.tennrich.com/trtw/cabling_3.php It is a reverse Engineering project and, from what I can see, there is, indeed,

You should be able to trim the crimp part of the contact then just solder the wire onto the terminal.

The truth is that TH will give you better mechanical stability. If it is a part where you risk strip off the pads of SMT connector, don't make this transition to SMT. If it is a one time cable plug there and there will be not too much pressure, go fo

I am not exactly clear on what you are looking for. From my customers, assembly drawing notes are assembly specific. If there is hardware, they might include the stack-up. If we are conformal coating, they usually indicate keep-out areas. If an LED

I expect to find the specification and measurement method for the bow & twist of an assembly to be on the assembly drawing. Comments are: * Expecting that an industry committee to write a bow & twist spec for an assembly they know nothing about is n
