As always, our good colleague Evtimov is right about the AOI and oven. For the AOI you need to make a golden sample board(panel) and test if your machine can catch all defects that you simulated BEFORE the oven. Try to me as accurate to real defects

We have tpsys 1.5.18 on our TP9-UFP. We are attempting to run "Optical Centering Calibration". Following the instructions in the manual, we have centered the cross hairs on the camera frame, loaded a "base" board then the L-19-447 calibration boar

The only reason you would need to run this calibration is if the camera was replaced or the centering camera got whacked which is highly unlikely. If your placements are off, put an offset in the parameter file.

You should check the optical alignment and thermal calibration of the BGA rework station periodically [every six months]. Likely, the equipment supplier gives recommendations on this calibration effort, maybe in the manual.

I guess we should differentiate between machine calibration, process reliability measurements and process capability study. For the machine calibration you use the machines own optical cameras, but for cpk or standard deviation you measure the place
