MPM UP2000 HiE Z axis software limit

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 22 10:19:57 EST 2010 | swag

Check/reseat all connections on axis driver card and from driver card to step motor. On older MpM's it is common to get a bad connection on the connector for axis driver power and blow components on your driver board. Reseating these connectors mig

Thank you so much. We actually did get the machine up and running yesterday morning. We switched the theta and the transport driver cards and it is working now. We have had the connectors burn on us in the past and replaced them. I am hoping the prob

Solder Bursting

What are your preheat rates? Try a slower ramp. A typical insurance policy is to kapton tape the gold card edge. If your problem persists, try baking the boards to drive the moisture out.

PCB v-score depaneling question

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 28 11:58:58 EST 2017 | emeto

Hello all, I am about to design a panel and there are two connectors on the board that seem to be very close to the edge of the board. I am worried that they might interfere with the cutter blade. Can you tell me how close do you think a part should

THT connector solder thieves

Tell us more about the location of the bridging [ie, front-to-back, back-to-back, front-to-front, etc]. Thoughts are: * Your annular ring around the hole seems large. You have 0.007", consider 0.003" to be the minimum. Your board fabricator can gi

Overprint, solder flow back

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 05 03:39:39 EST 2006 | pavel_murtishev

Good afternoon, Due to problems with power connector soldering I have to overprint paste on pads for this connector. Stencil thickness is 125um and I cannot make it thicker. Area ratio of chip resistor assemblies limits stencil thickness to 125um. R

AMP SMT Connector (PCI)

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 26 14:43:09 EDT 2006 | Billabong

We are having difficulty with thermal deformation of these AMP surface mount connectors. It is a RoHS compliant part, but only rated to withstand 245c for 10-30 seconds. Even at this temperature, we are seeing PLASTIC deforming which prevents mating

Through Hole Pad contamination

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 07 15:33:02 EST 2013 | mleber

Below are a few photos of an ongoing issue we are having with 1 pwb style. Some of the pads appear to have contamination that appears after the selective solder step. The joints are extremely hard to rework - almost impossible. We had the joints anal

F-MOT-MSETDYN Theta/12: No axis movement detected by transducer

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 07 11:06:50 EST 2020 | rgduval

Start by checking cables. Odd that the C-motor would initialize, but, then, theta fails when you move the Z-motor. Sounds like something's got a loose connection somewhere. Possibly in the connector going into the C-motor. If that's a no-go, try
