Payback time

Payback can be calculated in many ways. The main issue is what revenue/margin you can secure from the investment. You need to decide the period in which the equipment will depreciate, I would suggest 5 years max. Obviously devide the total cost by 5

I always look at the support structure. This is where I feel the real Dollars and cents come into play. Sure you can calculate the derated value over months or years. But If your machine is in a "machine down" situation the derated value does not cha

All, Thanks for your answers and (CAaaaaal)yes I would like to have a detailed list please. This is a new field to me as I do have to look after a production in Europa and far east. Most of the times money is not a problem but,They want to know ho

C3 just uses heated DI water that it applies, then pulls back into a disposable cartridge. Machine then applies a 10V charge to the sample & measures leakage current(nA,I think) over time(sec). If the leakage current is high enough/fast enough, you

Hi. We have changed our produktion from high volume to medium/low and have to start hunting change-over time. We have a lot of products with two sides and the settings of pins in the DEK 265 and Fuji QP242 machines when running b-side takes to long t

Hi Joakim, I do not know the QP242 table, but on our GP-341, CP-IV-2 and IP-III we make a plate from plexiglass with milled holes to show where the supports go for each board. This is not as fast as the Gridlock but does not cost nearly as much. J

How could you shorten model change time (Pb <-> Pb Free products) when using with same Reflow?

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 20 17:34:28 EST 2016 | dyoungquist

Most reflow ovens will heat up faster than they cool down when changing from 1 profile to another. Run your Pb products first then change over to your Pb Free products. That way you are going from a cooler profile to a hotter one. Going that direc

I need to reduce costs on solder paste wasted

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 19 09:18:14 EDT 2011 | davef

Could this be an opportunity to explore the use of cartridge-type paste dispensers? Or maybe a reason to keep working over the weekend. * Re-Storing & Re-Using “Used” Solder Paste. Though not a recommended practice, used solder paste from the stenci

How SMT Line Change over is measured?

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 26 08:52:35 EST 2013 | stephendo

Do you also measure job run time? IF you don't I"m sure if the change over time is measured but not the run time then the run time will go up almost as much as the change over time goes down.

How SMT Line Change over is measured?

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 20 13:24:56 EST 2013 | dyoungquist

If you stop when the first completed PCB of the next run goes in the oven, wouldn't you be including the loading time for that PCB in your change over time? Wouldn't change over time be from the time your p-n-p machine stops loading the last board o
