Murray "No-clean" fluxes/pastes should not normally give "white residues". Before exploring cleaning, which is costly for small production levels, I suggest you may care to find out why you have these residues. To help you, can you please answer th

Hi Jeff, Sean is correct. Although ultrasonic technology will work in post-reflow de-fluxing applications, you will receive concerns regarding ultrasonic damage to wire bonded components. Much has been written to combat this belief but the conce

| Dear All, | | In order to understand the soldering technologies in SMT, I'd like to understand why some cards are soldered and then cleaned, or only soldered whitout water cleaning nor "ultra sound" wavelength. | | I mean that I wonder why we use

Water soluble solder mask for reflow soldering.

Hi, We have solder reflow use with water soluble flux and Tin/lead process. There is special glass component which needs to mask during reflow soldering and wash flux+solder mask post soldering. The existing solder mask does washes off. But leaves

I know you mentioned you use a Tech Spray product. We have had success with their "Wondermask" water soluble product. When using a chemical additive (saponifier) in an aqueous cleaning system we have not experienced residues. I hope that helps. https

DO NOT Mix Technologies.... If you are using a no clean solder paste use a no clean wave solder process. I have direct experience with using a no clean paste and a RA water-soluble wave solder process. When cleaning with the water wash system your

Evalution on solder paste and spray flux

Well first off I wouldn't evaluate paste for a wave process. I would use solder bar instead. Flux - top side fillets and no shorting on the solder side, does it clean well after processing if using water soluble flux. How wide is the process win

Cleaning prototype PCB assemblies and waste water

We will be hand soldering a small number of PCBs per week (both through hole and SMT) using a water soluble flux. We will be using both standard leaded and lead free solder. The completed assemblies be hand washed in a sink using hot water. Do we
