Checked the archives with no luck. Anyone have a reliable test method of verifying acrylic conformal coat cure. Using Humiseal 1B31 mixed with approximately 30% solvent, spraying with a Nordson. Thanks in advance.

I know you're talking Humiseal, but this may help http://www.loctite.com/electronics/elec_tech_index.html Conformal Coatings (PDF Documents) "Conformal Coating Overview" (Lester D. Bennington, Senior Development Chemist and David Crossan, Manager

Hi all, just wondering what type of brushes you all are using to manually touch up/apply your conformal coatings? We use an solvent based acrylic and do minor touch ups as they are processed. Occasionally we will have a bristle or two come off the

If the white residue is from a no-clean flux or no- clean solder flux core you can leave it on the board. (Consult with the flux or cored solder manufacturer) Because after being encapsulated with conformal coating the residue is sealed from humidity

BE, Flux coating helps as there is no solvent to volatize. Also, we offer vacuum-cast preforms that will eliminate the possibility of the voids comimg from the alloy itself. I can email a PDF of some profiles, all I need your email address. You c

It's possible that your lead-free solder will stick to mounting bolts more than SnPb solder. Lead-free solder has a high tin content. Tin is a very good solvent. You may need to coat the bolts with a solder mask to prevent the solder from sticking.

So, why can't you clean misprints on Entek boards? Entek: Cheap, flat, OK shelf life, not without process and fabrication issues. Your Entek organic solderability protection is probably Entek Plus [CU106A] made by Ethone OMI. Consider getting a co

Humiseal probably won't work as most of them are solvent based or require pretty high temp cures. MicroCoat technologies manufacturers UV cure epoxy conformal coating materials that have been used to coat just about anythin (except the green fog) Cal
