What is the importance of SMEMA compatability regarding height of the PCB during transport? Most machine manufacturers ignore this and simply give you blocks to put under the machine if you need them. My question is if all of your equipment was des

SMEMA is not just conveyor height. It also is Conveyor width, Edge Clearance, Tooling pins, Maximun Machine gap, and Lead in of conveyor. Additional, SMEMA is a machine communications Protocol for machine to machine or machine to conveyor communicati

Thanks Cal, I'm aware of most of what you say. It seems that the height though is routinely ignored. You say 10"-15" of leg screws, surely the difference can't be that much. All of the Asian PnP machines I have specs on are 900mm +/- for transpor

Being a former Apps Engineer I hear what yer saying. The 10" Leg Screw was hypothetically speaking about Siemens Machines. Since they do go lower the need for a 10" leg screw is needed. They do not use a 10" leg screw they use platform feet risers in

Which companies would you consider for protective coatings, (conformal coating) and other levels of protection? I am taking a fresh look at alternatives. Know any good tests for testing compatability of coating with flux - aqueous or no clean? SMT

We currently use both Humiseal and Conap with OA flux. The flux MUST me cleaned off the assembly before coating. I know that Humiseal has coatings that are compatiable with no cleans as long as your processes are defined properly before your coating

Tin/Lead we have had no problem in masking off areas on a pcb during wave soldering. Lead Free alloys, Nickel Silver Copper would there be any compatability issues with a Peelable latex solder mask containing Ammonia. Really hot need to know.

You know Pat, I should just call you directly rather than post this stuff. You always have an answer. You must have been around awhile huh? :)

The only thing ammonia can do is tarnish copper and make it more difficult to solder. And the higher temp in lead-free will discolor the latex (giving it a sticky surface), but the functionality of the mask will be intact. There should be greater co

Are QP242E and MPIII feeders compatible? Or is there a way to make them compatible by modification?
