Laying down and holding large components

If you have a component with a height issue and want to lay is down (capacitor in this case), what are the best methods to consider? RTV, epoxy or something else?

Make sure your matrix tray is up high enough. The components in the matrix tray should be at least at board level. Also check your component height in the package list. If all that is OK then, check those Z locks I spoke of earlier.

Have you checked the component height in the package data to ensure that it is the same? how about the PCB itself, could there be some warp or twist thay may cause the component to be dropped onto the board? any support problems? this is all I can

Components Solder Short

Hi Folk, what is the possible cause for the components (e.g ICs) to be Solder shorted? I know that one of the cause is the solder paste height is too thicked. Could anyone advise me on then possible root cause and solution(to minimize the rate of so

There is a field retrofit to increase the 25mm (0.98425") standard clearance up to 45mm (1.77165"), its not quite the 2", but close. You will have to recreate your component library though. For more details, contact Mirtec tech support at http://www.

You can adjust to 45mm clearance, But I would recommend staying at 25mm if working with fine pitch and smaller passive components.

there is (or was), a CCD camera option to enable component heights up to 11mm part over part.

The squish is determined by the spring in the nozzle. If Z0 or table level is out, you would see it on more than one component..most likely Make sure board thickness and component height are correct. Also make sure you have board support installe

| For space contracts we have to mount chip capacitors/ resistors etc 0.1 to 0.4 mm from the pad height. | | This is to compenstae for the CTE differential in the substrate/component and also to ensure cleanliness. | | Does anyone have any new idea
